A colourful pair of Antique Edwardian Suffragette drop earrings decorated with an Amethyst, Peridot, Pearls and two wonderful briolette cut Amethyst droppers.
Suffragette jewellery was worn to show one’s allegiance to the women’s Suffragette movement in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which carried the message: Green for Give, white for Women and violet for Votes!
The earrings are fashioned in 18ct Yellow Gold and held in place with long hook wires. They look fabulous dangling from each ear and are a wonderful representation of the movement.
One of the Amethysts has a small fault in the stone but otherwise in good condition for its age.
